God's Country

My mom calls Oregon "God's Country." After taking two long walks (hikes?) through the trails right by her house, I can sort of see why. Here are my opportunities to practice up on photography skills other than portraiture. I had the most difficult time focusing on this spiderweb! It hung seemingly in midair, and being so thin it was difficult to catch in focus. Here's the best I could get. Our dog Kino wouldn't go near the water. But others were jumping right in the Willamette river.
We picked and ate black berries right along the trail. Adrie loved them and by the end she would eat berries as big as her mouth. She was in a pack on my back so sadly, I don't have any pictures of the bright plum juice that covered her lips. And here's my mom, who inspired this shoot to begin with.
