I was lucky enough to document this family reunion-slash-90th birthday party for some good friends. Lots of random photos, here are a few of my favorites!
I totally blew it on this shoot. I got there in the perfect evening sunlight only to realize my battery was still at work charging (*what kind of photographer goes to take pictures without a battery!? Stupid Alaina...) and then by the time I returned it got dark SO fast that I broke every photography rule I know (not that I know a lot of rules, but I know I broke the principals re: light, at least) and so you can tell some of these shots are obviously not the best quality, being that we took them in the DARK. A real photographer would call them "blown".... I think I will call them "artistic."
I lay awake at night wondering when the world will catch on that I don't know what I'm doing half the time.
But luckily I still get happy with the end results.
This was like four family shots in one - and for a large group, they were amazingly organized and it went off without a hitch - we even got smiling kids!
