My New Favorite

I am really in love with this photo and couldn't wait to post it. Because I've still got a long way to go in wading through these raws! For being super uncooperative, we sure got a lot of fun photos of this little guy...

Digital Darkroom

This is usually what a good, raw digital photograph looks like straight out of camera:

What takes me so long to 'process' photos, is that I (a) find the diamond in the rough (example: this perfect photo came out of 322 tries) and then (b) turn the bland, full-of-digital-information negative into a full color palette with all the right highlights and shadows (for example, her face was too light and too bland in contrast with all the color around her, so that needed some digital magic. etc. etc.) and then (c) I have to choose from the different versions I come up with. Often times I give you all the options and make YOU choose what to print, so sorry, I can't help it that I'm indecisive.

Finally Family

I try to have pictures done within two weeks of a shoot, and when it takes all two weeks I know if feels like forever to those waiting! I hope it was worth it for these ones :)

Mini Shoot

This was supposed to be a 30 minute shoot with a total of ten final photos.
Well... 24 minutes later, I can only narrow it down to 18 favorites. EIGHTEEN.
What am I supposed to do?! This baby just beamed for the camera - how can I resist?

The Last Day of Fall

Can you get over the perfect setting they chose? We started this shoot in crisp fall weather and ended in fat snowflakes. Goodbye autumn, we'll miss you. We did decide that snow is better than rain (which is what we got last year, you can see those pictures here.)
